Founder, Fearless Heart
In 2011 I opened Fearless Heart as a yoga studio. The intention was always about creating space for true community, and searching and learning. It was never just about stretching stiff muscles, but waking up in our body creates new awareness. Often that awareness stirs old grief and trauma, but also our own capacity to pay attention and be present for the full spectrum of being a human.
Fearless was and continues to be for folks who are searching for their own centre of gravity. For community, healing, self-inquiry and connection. We are now a multi-disciplinary clinic with practitioners who support your body, mind, and spirit.
In addition to being a somanaut (explorer of the body), I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and a licensed class 1 funeral director. I am certified in death, dying, and bereavement from Wilfrid Laurier University and I facilitate grief and bereavement support individually and in groups. I have been studying being a human form from various teachers and mentors for the last two decades, and have had the privilege of studying personally with Tom Myers, Peter Levine, Gil Hedley, Ariel Giaretto, Danny Paradise, Seane Corn, and other wonderful humans. I think it is worth mentioning that I am also a survivor of trauma and that I have a deep reverence for how hard it is to do the work to keep healing and paying attention each day.
Ways to work with me:
In Somatic Experiencing and grief support work both virtually and in person (In Waterloo Ontario). Sometimes our work involves movement, sensation tracking, creative expressions, storytelling, group work, table and touch skills work, and breath work. I also work with folks to create rituals and ceremony as ways to commemorate loss, celebrate milestones, and landmark moments in healing. I am also a certified funeral celebrant, but I often use ceremony as a creative form of healing.
